1. What is civil legal advice and aid?

Civil legal advice is any oral or written advice given by a solicitor or barrister in civil matters, including writing letters and negotiations on your behalf.
Civil legal aid is representation by a solicitor or barrister in civil proceedings in the District, Circuit, High and Supreme Court. Legal aid does not include representation before tribunals except for asylum / refugee cases, but legal advice and assistance is available if you are appearing before a tribunal.
