RLS FAQs - Frequently Asked Questions
7. What is leave to remain?
Leave to remain is permission granted to you to remain in the State. It is granted at the discretion of the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform. It may be granted, for example, if you do not meet fully the requirements of the definition of a refugee, but the Minister decides you should be allowed to remain in the State for humanitarian reasons.
