We have responsibilities as a data controller under the Data Protection Acts 1998 and 2003 to protect client data.
These include to keep the data only for specified and lawful purposes, keep it safe and secure, and retain it no longer than necessary. Normally law centres will keep your data for seven years after your case is finished, and then securely destroy the data. Your data might be kept longer if the law centre acted for you in relation to the transfer of a property or in other complex matters.
You can make a request for access to your personal data using this form.
