Legal Aid Board Hosts Two-Day Staff Event and Launches Refreshed Website
30th May 2025: The Legal Aid Board hosted a two-day staff network event this week, bringing together colleagues from all of its 44 offices. This occasion also marked the launch of its refreshed website: Legal Aid Board.ie.
Centred on the theme of connection, the event was held at the Gibson Hotel, Dublin, and welcomed staff from across the country to enhance networking, make connections, and share knowledge. It featured keynote contributions from the Attorney General, Rossa Fanning SC. the Minister of Justice Jim O Callaghan TD, and the Honourable Mr Justice Donal O’Donnell, Chief Justice. Over two days, staff participated in practical workshops, CPD sessions, and management panels to support professional networks and strengthen internal networks.
Coinciding with the event was the launch of the Legal Aid Board’s new refreshed website – designed with a renewed clear focus on client needs, accessibility and plain English. The refreshed website reflects a significant step in modernising how services are presented and delivered, making it easier for clients to find the information and supports they need.
CEO of the Legal Aid Board Ms Joan Crawford said:
This is a moment of pride and reflection for us as an organisation. Our staff are at the heart of the Legal Aid Board. The work we do changes lives. This event is a moment to celebrate them, to build new bridges between services and people, and to look to the future – with renewed energy, a refreshed website, and a stronger sense of unity that ever before.”
Minister of Justice Jim O Callaghan TD commented:
“The Legal Aid Board plays a vital role in ensuring access to justice and its work makes a hugely positive difference to thousands of people every year.
“I look forward to my Department’s continued partnership with the Board on ongoing reforms to deliver modern and user-focused supports and services - particularly in the areas of family justice, mediation and Civil Legal Aid.”
