Family Mediation Panel

What is the Panel?

The Legal Aid Board is establishing a Family Mediator Private Practitioner Panel to provide mediation services to the Board’s clients on foot of Section 5(1) and Section 11A(1) of the Civil Legal Aid Act 1995 (as amended).

What work can I expect from the panel?

Clients referred under the terms of this panel will include family mediation for:

  • Divorce
  • Separation
  • Dissolution of Civil Partnership
  • Maintenance
  • Custody, Access and Guardianship
  • Parenting

How do I join the panel?

I am signed up. How do I get work?

The Board will assign cases, having regard to its internally established criteria. These include the geographical location of applicants, length of waiting times and the number on waiting lists.

What are the fees payable?

There is a standard scale of fees payable per case to a mediator on the Panel for the provision of services. These can be found attached to the Terms and Conditions here. Claims may be made on the Claim for Fees Form attached hereunder.
