Removal of requirement to pay a contribution in domestic violence cases

As of 1st January 2018,  if you are granted civil legal aid or advice for a domestic violence matter, you will no longer need to pay a contribution towards your legal aid or advice.

This applies if your case is in the District Court (or for Circuit Court Appeals) and the only matter before the court will be an application for a domestic violence order.

You must still meet the financial eligibility requirements for civil legal aid and advice.
